TRA INFO HUB + BeyondXC.cloud

More safety in the air. More value from every flight.

BeyondXC.cloud complements TRA INFO HUB at tra.airspace.at, where you can find current airspace notices about TRAs, AUP and military NOTAMs. This site focuses on flight reviews, flightbooks, statistics and club features. Together, the two sites help you prepare flights better and clarify airspace questions with traceable information.

Online since mid-2025

TRA INFO HUB helps prevent airspace infringements.

TRA INFO HUB at tra.airspace.at primarily supplies TRA times to XContest. This can prevent unnecessary airspace infringement reports when correct activation data is available promptly.

There is also a freely configurable widget for a vario, XCTrack or smartphone. It shows TRAs, Air Use Plan and relevant military NOTAM airspaces such as LOXZ, LOXA and LOXT. It is most useful in regions where you need to know during flight whether an area is active or inactive.

Example: 21 April 2026

In the AUP archive the Air Use Plan information showed an activation from 10:00 to 16:00. At the same time, a NOTAM deactivated the period from 08:00 to 10:00. From midday, another NOTAM extended the activation from 16:00 to 22:00.

Changes like these happen regularly: TRAs close earlier, or other airspaces are opened or extended at short notice. Once you are on your way after your ground briefing, there is little chance of seeing these changes without tools like this. TRA INFO HUB also supplies this data to vario manufacturers; XCTrack already receives it additionally through XContest.

In beta since April 2026

BeyondXC turns your flights into a better flightbook.

BeyondXC.cloud recently went online as a beta and is being expanded continuously. The current focus is on real community requests: better statistics, a flightbook with stories and pictures, a more modern profile, XContest imports, club contests and barometric evaluations.

Design and smartphone usability continue to improve. The current focus is deliberately on building the functions pilots and clubs actually need.

What BeyondXC improves

More than uploads and rankings: a tool for better flights.

BeyondXC connects flightbooks, airspace checks, contests, live tracking and analysis. This creates evaluations that tell you not just how far you flew, but why a flight went well and where there is room for improvement.

For pilots

BeyondXC turns an IGC track into more than a line on a map.

  • Extended flight statistics covering climb, glide, speed, altitude profile, the course of the day and route quality.
  • Barometric evaluation rather than GPS altitude alone, making close airspace cases and competition flights easier to assess fairly.
  • Flightbook, 3D replay and live tracking with more context, plus better buddy and route-buddy features for comparison, planning and learning.

For clubs

Clubs get better tools for their community, contests and transparent evaluations.

  • Your own contests, club scoring and rankings with traceable flight details, replacing spreadsheets and manual follow-up work.
  • More reliable data on regional routes, take-off sites, membership development and sporting activity within the club.
  • Better evidence for airspace questions, because barometric data, TRA times and flight details can be examined together.

For flight schools

Flight schools can support training, progress and real flights more effectively.

  • Courses, flight days, student records and progress can be connected to real flights and their evaluations.
  • Flight reviews, signatures and documentation become easier to follow because the relevant data is attached to each flight in one place.
  • 3D replay, altitude profiles and statistics help with debriefing: what went well, where was height lost unnecessarily, and which route might have been better?

Why join?

Because every connected flight helps with safety, evaluation and development.

More safety before and during flight

TRA INFO HUB shows you which TRAs, military areas, AUP activations and relevant NOTAM airspaces currently matter. You can configure the widget so your vario, XCTrack or smartphone shows exactly the information relevant to your route.

Better evidence for airspace questions

If XContest reports a GPS airspace infringement, you can check your flight using barometric altitude. You can paste the evaluation link into the XContest message field so reviewers can assess whether the flight is valid according to barometric altitude.

A flightbook that does more

BeyondXC is building a more modern logbook with statistics, stories, pictures, a blog-style presentation and better evaluations. Your flights should do more than sit in storage: they should eventually tell the story of what you flew.

Statistics, levels and club contests

Alongside traditional XC evaluations, a level system, personal overviews, club rankings and contests such as XC or glide contests are being developed. Clubs can use them to organise their own competitions and rankings more easily.

XContest is already integrated

You decide how your flights reach BeyondXC.

Nobody has to upload flights automatically. You can analyse IGC files manually and add them to your flightbook. Vario providers such as Naviter are also involved in discussions about direct uploads after flight.

When you connect XContest, BeyondXC automatically adds only flights from the last 24 hours to your personal flightbook. This helps you build your own statistics and also makes a huge contribution to development, because real flight data reveals which evaluations are missing in practice.

How to get started

Four steps that make BeyondXC more useful straight away.

1. Create a BeyondXC account

Register on BeyondXC for free. You can upload flights manually and do not have to enable automatic transfer if you do not want it.

Open registration

2. Connect XContest to BeyondXC

Join the “beyondXC” group on XContest and enter the UUID shown there in your BeyondXC profile. Only flights from the last 24 hours will then be added to your flightbook automatically.

Open XContest group

3. Import earlier XContest years

On XContest World, download “Download IGC” at the bottom of the flightbook list for each year — importantly, not “All IGC”. Also download CSV or JSON. Then import each year separately using batch upload with the ZIP plus CSV or JSON.

Open batch upload

4. Build an airspace widget

If you fly in regions with TRAs, military areas or AUP activations, build a widget for your device. It helps you stay informed in the air about whether airspaces are active or inactive.

A personal request

The project depends on feedback and real flights.

A great deal of work has gone into TRA INFO HUB and BeyondXC, but the platform should be developed with the community in mind. If something is missing or unclear, or if you have an idea, please get in touch directly. User requests are implemented wherever possible.

It is particularly important to me that the airspace widget is used where airspaces such as TRAs, military areas or Air Use Plan activations matter. And I appreciate every XContest connection, because it brings flights into the flightbook automatically and improves development through real data.

Start for free. Develop it together.

BeyondXC is intended to be funded through sponsors in the long term. The aim is to enjoy our wonderful hobby in Austria with reliable airspace data, barometric evidence and more modern evaluations, without relying solely on GPS.
